detail vs form
As of late, I find my sketches focusing on facial detail/expressions more than just form. When I have an idea in my head and attempt to execute it onto a sheet of drawing paper or tablet, then I suddenly get caught up in the eyes, or the nose, etc.
I try to tell myself that the “whole picture” needs to flourish before moving onto detail but in the end it seems to be all about the face. Now, I`ll admit I do like illustrating facial features and expressions, but I don`t want that to be a main theme every time I begin to sketch.
Now if the world were filled with floating heads…
