artist spotlight
Shrouded in a bit of mystery, Tim Bradstreet has been giving a whole new meaning to “maximum black”. His works accentuate light & shadow, really bringing out not only the form of his subject but also a personality.
I had come across Tim`s work back in the early 90`s in
the pages of a table-top RPG gamebook called Vampire:The Masquerade. I really enjoyed his style & expression with all the characters he had floating around in his head. Working mostly from his own photo references, he had an almost eerie way of “bending” shadow to his will and giving life to a former photographic image. Throughout the years, his works have been a real artist inspiration for me not just because its really nice work, but because he took a step in a different direction and stuck with it! He wasn`t one of those guys who`s style would change over the years, but rather he did what he felt worked for him and his artistic pursuit. From Gallows in The RedSky Diaries to the Punisher series, one thing remains the same, he has ink running through his veins for sure.
Now if someone would just let him know that he seriously needs to update his website…
